A Minimus Treat with Maximus Flavor
This past Thursday I attended my first Seattle Food Bloggers event, organized by Frantic Foodie, Keren Brown. We met up at Beecher’s Cheese for a very quick behind-the-scenes tour then sauntered up the street to Sugar Mountain’s newest venture, Maximus Minimus.

The pig-shaped food truck serves braised, pulled pork and veg sandwiches, slaw with cabbage and fennel, and chips sprinkled with Maximus Minimus Seasoning Salt. [Bonus: They use compostable products to serve their fresh fare!]

Making each combination unique is the chance to choose your sauce, Maximus (savory and spicy) or Minimus (tangy and sweet). Always a bit wimpy when it comes to spice, I chose the minimus pork sandwich with Beecher’s flagship cheese, a side of minimus slaw, and hibiscus nectar.

The whole wheat bun was soft and slightly sweet, the pork was tender and full of flavor, the slaw light and crunchy. Before I was finished, I was brainstorming a list of friends I needed to meet up with for lunch. Maximus Minimus is open every day from 11:00am to 4:00pm on the corner of 2nd and Pike, the perfect place to meet downtown. My next order at the oinker on wheels? A Maximus pulled pork sandwich with a side of chips and ginger lemonade.
(I met a collection of fabulous food bloggers at this event, including Hungry Grrl, Sonja’s Kitchen, Tastefully Overcaramelized, and Mary Eats.)

I just sent this link to some coworkers with the suggestion that we take the bus one of these sunny days during lunch. Yum. Looks fab!

Molly must have gotten the inspiration for our recent lunch from you. Instead of our usual – what’s the closest place we can fill our gullet I asked my beautiful girl for a lunch date. I told her we could go have lunch anywhere in the city as long as we spent less than $20. We ended up at Maximus Minimus and enjoyed fabulous sandwiches. We went with Maximus and they were nicely spiced, but not hot whatsoever – I recommend you give it a shot. My first visit to your site – very cool!

I need to go back soon and get the Maximus! Gotta try the potato chips too… I have a bottle of the seasoning they make specifically for the chips. It is yum!
